Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Nautical Scout’s   Recipe, in our favorite Maitre Francais collapsible cookware – a healthy start to 2015!

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal


Total Time: 11 min – 13 min

Prep: 5 min

Cook: about 8 min (for water), or 6 min (for milk) in 1200W microwave

Yield: 2 servings

Level: Easy


1 apple, cored and coarsely chIMG_3215opped

1 cup rolled oats

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Pinch kosher salt

2 cups of water  (or two cups of milk)

2 tablespoons brown sugar (or maple syrup)

1/4 cup walnuts or pecans, or any fruit toppings you like


Combine the apple, oats, cinnamon, and salt in the medium Maitre Francais steamer, and stir in water. Cover with lid and heat in the microwave on high until apples are soft and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 8 minutes.


Add brown sugar or maple syrup or. Divide between 2 bowls and top with the nuts or your favorite toppings. Serve immediately.
